Our Training Restaurants

At the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS), students refine their skills in real-world environments by preparing and serving at the ITS specialised training restaurants. On the ITS campus in Luqa, The Voyage Restaurant and Runway, a Culinary Journey Restaurant, offer distinct dining experiences, while Il-Menħir Restaurant provides a similar experience on our Qala campus in Gozo.

Throughout the academic year, these restaurants offer unique lunch and dinner experiences. Under the guidance of experienced lecturers, students craft and serve a variety of dishes and drinks, applying their knowledge from their study programmes.

The training restaurants aim to not only provide a place to train students but also offers a unique experience to patrons to see how tomorrow’s hospitality workers during their training phase.

As these are training restaurants, the experience may differ and patrons are asked to keep in mind that the restaurants are of a training nature and therefore the experience may be different from that of a normal restaurant.

Certain limitations exist, such as set menus that cannot be altered. We kindly ask that any dietary requirements be communicated when booking, as our kitchen may not be equipped to cater to last-minute changes. The available food items are determined by the lesson plan for the day and are prepared in quantities based on the number of patrons booked.

Patrons can enjoy the perfect blend of delightful dining and hospitality in an inviting atmosphere, where every detail is thoughtfully curated to ensure a memorable experience. Guests will be treated to:

  • A diverse cuisine

  • Exceptional service

  • Supporting the next generation of hospitality professionals

The capacity of our restaurants is limited by the number of students in the kitchen and dining area, ensuring that each student receives quality training. Our training restaurants not only provide an educational environment for students but also offer patrons a unique opportunity to witness the development of tomorrow’s hospitality professionals during their formative training phase.
